I grew up in a poly household. My mother was married to two men who loved her dearly and they were the best of friends. I use past tense due to the fact that one of my fathers passed away a few years back.

I grew up in one of the most stable, loving households I can imagine. I had tons of support from all three of my parents, I never felt alone, and I never felt confused about my parents relationship.

Were other people confused when I told them about my parents? Sure. Did it take some time for them to understand my parents relationship? Yep. And the reaction I got every single time from other kids once they understood? “That’s so awesome!”

Growing up in a poly house did not hurt me, confuse me, or make my life difficult. It sure as hell wasn’t abusive.

Healthy poly relationships do not hurt children.

part of my experience as the jew at a catholic school was the realization that the christian (including people from a christian background, regardless of your identification rn) perception of jewishness is simply that you just don’t include the new testament and bam: jews.

which is a baffling way to perceive jewishness even when people are determined to remain as ignorant as possible. wouldn’t you say that there are differences between how certain types of christians interpret the bible? now, add a few thousand more years and a culture that is pretty heavily based on well, arguing tbh, and the sheer arrogance to believe that oh yeah you’ve got this jewishness down.

like: original sin. not a jewish concept!

but: jewishness in the western eye is essentially boiled down to christianity without the jesus and the tokenization of shoah survivors yet there is still this belief that you guys get what it means to be a jew.

which: shockingly, is not even something we can agree on.

Onyx Queen: Boundaries

Abby had rolled her eyes so hard they almost popped out of her skull.

"Are you serious?"

"It’s not like she was living it up in the Caribbean while she was away, Abby. I just want to give her a chance, that’s all."

Abby gave her a scathing are-you-fucking-kidding-me stare. Not that she blamed her. It sounded feeble and foolish even to her own ears.

"It’s not like I’m giving her an all-access pass, OK? I did set boundaries."

"I’m terrified of what’s going to come out of your mouth, but I have a morbid curiosity about what those boundaries are."

"First of all, she can’t call me her girlfriend yet. She doesn’t get to sleep with me. She doesn’t get to kiss me. If she’s really good, she might get to hug me or hold my hand."

"Kiki, I love you like a sister, and I know you’re smarter than you act sometimes. But you do have a tendency to be a space cadet. So can you please explain to us Earthlings why this seems like a good idea?"

"I need to know that she can prioritize our relationship. If I let her touch me, I’ll want her to kiss me. If I let her kiss me, she’ll want to have sex with me. And Regina is the Pringles of sex. You never fuck her just once. I need to be clear-headed about this, and Regina has a way of making things…blurry. It isn’t bad. To be honest, it’s delightfully overwhelming. But before I jump into that again, I have to know for certain where we stand with one another. You understand?"

Abby nodded. “Did you really call her the Pringles of sex?”

"Oh, shut up."

A fancy pillow sailed across the sofa and bounced off Abby’s head.

Abby laughed until her face was the color of one of Regina’s apples.

The Pringles of sex tee hee

Way down the road after Kiki and Regina have sex and Kiki tells Abby about it, Abby buys Kiki a can of Pringles to celebrate

Also I’m glad Kiki got to set her boundaries and that she has a good friend in Abby to talk to :)

With iOS 8 law enforcement can now control your phone and prevent you from taking photos, videos and recordings of officers when they are near. The apps will be disabled within a certain radius. Capturing any police brutality is now prohibited.

Apple holds a patent which mentions that its technology could have applications for law enforcement and government security. For example, the patent description notes that covert ‘police or government operations may require complete ‘blackout’ conditions’.

A Ferguson Police Officer Was Shot Saturday Night

A police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, was shot Saturday night.

The shooting happened about 9:10 p.m. when a Ferguson police officer saw two men near a Ferguson-area community center, St. Louis Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a news conference. The officer, who was in a patrol car by himself at the time, got out and ended up chasing the men. During the chase, one of the men turned and fired at the office. The bullet struck the officer in the arm.

Belmar said the officer “was able to get a couple shots off,” though police Saturday had “no evidence that either suspect was shot.” Both men remained at large early Sunday morning. The officer was being treated for his wounds and he was expected to recover.

Neither Belmar nor police representatives who spoke with BuzzFeed News offered additional details Saturday night. Belmar added that he was unaware of any other shootings late Saturday — despite widespread rumors on social media that another person had been killed by police.

Police did not immediately provide a specific address for the incident, but video and images posted online immediately after the shooting showed crime scene tape and crowds near St. Peter’s Evangelical United Church of Christ, at 1425 Stein Road.

Police do not believe the shooting was related to the protests that had been happening earlier Saturday evening.

Belmar described the scene of the shooting as “an area that’s fairly secluded.” He added that the shooting “certainly doesn’t appear” to be connected to to the protests.

St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar speaking early Sunday morning.

Soon after the shooting, Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson briefly addressed protesters and told them to go home.

Despite police assertions that the shooting was unrelated to the protests, the incident sent tensions soaring early Sunday morning.

In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, police massed in several locations. And despite orders from Johnson and others to disperse, protesters remained out on the streets. People initially gathered at various locations, including near the scene of the shooting, but by about midnight were gathering in downtown Ferguson near police headquarters.

Crowd has gotten a little larger near #Ferguson police department.

About 100 protesters in parking lot across from #Ferguson PD. Demanding arrest of Darren Wilson.

There’s a line of protestors and a line of police. Something is going to go down tonight.

The shooting came after a sometimes-tense evening of protests.

Earlier Saturday, a man showed up a the protest holding an “I am Darren Wilson” sign. The sign — which meant to express support for the officer who killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown on Aug. 9 — apparently incited protesters. Witnesses at the scene later tweeted that police removed the man.

The shooting also happened two days after protesters and officers scuffled outside the police station.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
